Frequently Asked Questions - PAL Football Program

Question:
How do I apply for Financial Aid?

Answer:
PALFW is committed to allowing all athletes to play and overcome any financial barriers. Simply put in the code "paylater" at checkout and you will fill out the financial aid paperwork during equipment handout.

Question:
What age can my athlete start playing tackle football?

Answer:
All athletes are given an assessment at the beginning of the season. After this assessment, the athlete, coach and parent have a discussion about where the athlete should be placed to help them maximize both their football skillsets and their enjoyment of the game.

Question:
Can we play with our school?

Answer:
Yes! All teams are affiliated a high school. All athletes from the elementary schools and middle schools associated with that high school are placed on the same team.

Question:
When does the season start?

Answer:
The season starts the first week of August for the Prep for Tackle and Legacy Tackle programs. The Flag Football programs start the 3rd week of August.

Question:
What programs can girls participate in?

Answer:
The Prep for Tackle and Legacy Tackle program are co-ed programs and girls are welcome to play. This year, PAL is also offering an exclusively girls flag program from K-7th grade!

Question:
What league should we sign up for?

Answer:
It just depends on what age your athlete is and what stage of their football development they are at. When in doubt, just get them signed up and the player development team and coaches will make sure that your athlete is placed in the program that works best for them.

Question:
What days are practice?

Answer:
It is based on league! Flag football plays and practices on Saturdays. Prep for Tackle practices one to three times per week and plays Saturdays. Legacy Tackle practices three times per week and plays Saturdays.
